I got this last year as I switched from Vodafone to Optus. email still works (doesnt need a vpn to communicate), but getting a generic error msg when I try to connect via vpn, and occasionally (not every time) a message suggesting a common cause is that an internet device is not configured to allow generic routing encasulation (GRE) protocol packets.
